Summer Fun !!!

Shauna and Nik came home for 6 weeks this summer!  We had great fun with them! Wished they could have stayed all summer!! Miranda started walking just before they came and she mastered walking while she was here.  We loved seeing the new steps!

We love our new sister!  We just missed Janae today at home working.

Sara won as a finalist for Jr. Miss Northern Utah! She won first place in Talent, Self Expression, Judges interview, and runner up in Fitness. She will compete in March for the State title.  She sang a French Opera about Romeo and Juliet. She was just dynamite!

Rochell and I went with some friends to Tuachan Outdoor Theatre in St. George and had a great time watching Tarzan! He could sing and had all the muscles to show off on the zip lines and bungee cords. It was a fun show! Wish we could see it again this summer.

Zoo Pictures!! We had so much fun taking pictures and playing all day.  We met Ray and Nik at the Mandarin in Bountiful for dinner! Perfect day!!

Moving David and Erin to their new Basement Apartment in Farmington.  That bed has traveled to Omaha Nebraska and back when we were in school. Time for a new bed!!! Erin got a teaching job at Cypress High in Salt Lake and David will be going to Weber State and University of Utah.

I took pictures of flowers by the pool at Shauna's appartment in Arizona.  I was so excited to see flowers because it was still snowing at our house in Utah. Shauna came to visit for a week while Nik was taking tests. Nik's parents visited for the weekend and Shauna decided to follow them home. So she called and asked me if I would get a plane ticket and drive back to Arizona the following weekend. So of course I couldn't pass this opportunity to be with them for a week and then drive in the car with them.  I love Road Trips!!!  I only got to stay for 1 day and Ian and I got to go swimming together! Loved so much being one on one with that little bundle of energy. He loves the water and just jumps right in and swims around. Shauna and Miranda had their cute black shoes on and they were modeling for me. Shauna and Nik dropped me off at the airport and then they went to the Arizona Temple.  What a wonderful weekend and it was so warm and sunny!!

Ray and I went to San Diego for a vacation last weekend for 2 days and we stayed at our Condo and used our Sky miles to get there. We took a tour of the city and stopped at Seaport village where Ray had this yummy Flan dessert.

We went to the San Diego Zoo and saw the cute Panda Baby climbing in the tree.

We rented a Mustang Convertable that we drove to the beaches with the top down.  You could tell we were from out of town because all the locals had coats on and nobody even had their windows rolled down.

We had lunch at a beautiful restrauant by La Jolla Beach named Kimko. The food was very delicious and the atmosphere was the best. I just love this picture.

After we left the beach we drove to the Temple and walked around. The Temple is getting a face lift on the freeway side and there was scaffolding all around the back of the Temple.

After we left the Temple we went back to Mission Beach to walk along the Bike path and watch the sunset.

I think this flower looks like #5 on the Movie Short Circut....

Easter and Friends Tea Party

Easter in Utah...Rachael has a great GREEN GUMBALL story.  It is a tender mercy that she felt our Heavenly Father's love for her. So we got her a whole jar full to put in her Easter basket. She loved them...

Ethan Joyner and Izaak decorated Easter Eggs...Sara had her friends come over and decorate eggs and they all loved it so much... especially Colton!  They went bowling afterwards.

Even Ray decorated an egg with Sara.

We did our Easter egg hunt and breakfast on April 1st so David and Erin and Ray could be here for the fun.  Ray will be singing in the choir for Easter this year so we celebrated early. David and Erin will be celebrating with Erin's family and so it all worked out that we got to have them on April 1st. David had to go to his ROTC so he came in his fatigues. It was the second day that he had been walking without his boot cast! He has a little limp but is healing quite well.

I had a Tea Party with my highschool friends for our May get together. Everyone brought their own teacup and Carla brought her teapots. I fixed an herbal Raspberry Tea that had fresh raspberries, orange slices and lemon slices. It was beautiful and yummy and everyone asked for more. Paula wore her Grandma's dress. She was so beautiful in it... I wore Rochell's old gunnysac dress that she wore in highschool. Paula and i couldn't breath very well in our dresses so we changed after the pictures. What a great blessing good friends are! I love these girls so much and I appreciate them more and more as we do these parties together. We tied a quilt for our friend Carla.  She has MS and we wanted to give this blanket to her to comfort her in her times of secret suffering and let her know that we love her and support her in her trials.  We all have trials in our lives and the strength I feel from these amazing women is so strong when we get together.                        

Another Visit

This time we flew the kids up to Utah.  Scott was leaving on his mission and we all wanted Shauna and the kids here... Nik had to stay in AZ for school.  We missed him!

The kids were here for a week.  We did a lot of visiting and just haning out!!  Miranda is getting so big and Ian is getting so big and smart!  We love them!

We were so happy to get to visit with Carma and Jerry!!  Jerry had just been in the hospital and we almost didn't get to visit with them!  Carma was well "Carma" and had Ian won over instantly!

We went out to eat and I loved every minute of this... I didn't get to eat much because Ian wanted my food and I was busy keeping Miranda out of everything, but it was fun!

We had to give them lots of hugs and kisses while we had them!

Back to the Airport.. we are sad to see them go!
